  FONCA (CONACULTA)
The Mexican National Fund for Culture and Arts (Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes, FONCA) provides scholarships for people interested in doing postgraduate studies in studies related to arts and culture studies.

Selection criteria
Target group: Master's degree, PhD degree
Purpose: Study, Research
Field of study: Arts and Humanities, Fine and applied arts
Countries: Mexico
Eligible candidates: Students that have been accepted in a postgraduate programme in one of the following fields: Architecture, Visual Arts, Dance, Design, Cultural studies, Culture Management, Literature, Audiovisual Media, Music, Theatre, Art conservation and restoration.

Value and purpose of grant : Max. $130,000 Mexican pesos

Grant award period : Master’s degree and specialization course: max. 2 years

PhD: max. 3 years


Closing date : 
The call usually opens from February until May each year.

 

Grant provider : FONCA is part of CONACULTA, the National Council for Culture and Arts. It is a government-funded organization.

 

Application procedure: After acceptance in a higher education institute, students can apply directly with FONCA. Please check the FONCA website for more information.
